Significant increase in new private home sales at Geylang
Geylang Developments were sold a total of 998 new private home by developers, compared to 486 units in May. This is the highest number of units transaction in the same month in seven years. According to the Urban Redevelopment Authority, it accounts for 92% of the units transacted including the Outside Central Rgion (OCR) and Rest of Central Region (RCR).
Recently, buyers are spending more on a property, 13% of new homes sold in June were at $2million and above, compared to 5% in May. Meanwhile, condo units resale transactions and private aparments also increased in June. There is a total of 497 resale condominium units were sold, compared to 181 in May, which increased of 174%.
A Geylang mixed-use property is up for en bloc
Another Geylang Property is up for en bloc sale according to Wing Fong Court and Wing Fong Mansions. Green Court Residences, which is situated along Geylang Road with rear frontage facing Lorong 26 Geylang, is being asked for tender of at least $28 million.
Green Court is surrounded by a number of newer condos, which could reaffirm the viability of redeveloping the site
